information. BIO A traveler from another world in search of his missing sister, Lumine. Generally reliable and to-the-point, Aether is a serious, quiet young man with a tendency to keep to himself. He has a sensitive, sympathetic disposition and is prone to putting the problems of others ahead of his own, but he also tends to be secretive and doesn't talk very much about his goals and needs. Beneath his unremarkable good-boy exterior, he is sharply intelligent and even wistfully philosophical in the right situations. He can often be single-mindedly focused on deliverables, rewards, and objectives. Has a deadpan sense of humor that tends towards gently teasing others. Every now and then, he can be surprisingly cold and amoral; as an outlander, he knows that he can't stay anywhere for long, and one day, he might just disappear. APPEARANCE Long blond hair, usually braided; golden eyes. The crystal accents on his attire change colors according to the element he's attuned to. Is visibly young, given that he tends to be referred to as "kiddo," "buddy," "boy," and other such names. Might be considered generally attractive, as others describe his face as "handsome," "pretty," "good-looking," and, uh, "defined yet atypical." Is he cold in that outfit? I don't know. He says his favorite slimes are Pyro Slimes. I'm pretty sure he's just cold. For players who may feel affected by the medium divide, I appreciate that Genshin Impact is a bigheaded anime game that doesn't lend itself well to realism. If you require a more realistic take on the game's art style, your character may think of Aether as looking roughly the way he does in this illustration: he is a very androgynously pretty young man who seems to be in his late teens, but he is so doll-like and without visible flaws that he may actually seem slightly artificial. VOICE Thankfully, Aether has very similar voice direction throughout Genshin Impact's four dubs: his voice tends toward being youthful but distinctly masculine, with a soft and breathy affect that is somewhat unique to him. If you're interested in hearing his voice(s), you can listen to him in English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. His Japanese voice is my personal favorite and what I default to for vocal description, but I'm not opposed to any of the others. OLFACTORY He smells nice. This has been commented on multiple times in canon now. He's a nice-smelling Uncle Yellow Fur, according to a bakedanuki. I'm literally only listing olfactory details because I think it's cute that he smells nice. Allegedly, he smells like stars, the sea, and Windwheel Asters, but it's possible that his friend Razor was just detecting the general scents of Mondstadt on him; some of the aranara, which are basically woodland spirits, also say that Aether smells nice. Realistically, he probably smells of sweet flowers and grasses, with the normal salty tang of skin and sweat underneath. ic permissions. PLATONIC CONTACT Sure, no problem. Also, please note that I won't play Aether as the Abyss Prince; I only play Aether as the Traveler. CANON AGE The protagonists of Genshin Impact are at least 500 years old and more likely eons older. A few characters make jokes about the traveler looking young, but Aether is generally treated as an adult within his own canon and his behavior demonstrates a much older character. Your character is entitled to see him as a child if that is what you'd prefer, however. He won’t outwardly push back on it, though he may suggest otherwise, as it tends to be in his interest to let others think that he is a completely normal, mortal young man. OTHER I am generally a slow RPer, as a word of warning. While I can turn tags around in a day or two sometimes, you can more often expect me to take anywhere between 1-2 weeks for a tag.
