ironwindThe Golden Apple Archipelago event questline only featured Mondstadt characters, but we can do whatever we want, right? I like writing about summer more than I actually enjoy being outside in summer, so I'm happy to spirit your character away to some sandy shores for some fun in the sun no matter what time of year it is. Aether and your character can build sandcastles or catch lizards or play with harpastums... or just do whatever your character would enjoy doing at the beach!
Please let Aether cook for your character. No, really, that's it, that's the prompt. I love the food porn in this game and I love literary food porn of all kinds. My interest is really just in writing deeply pretentious food critic tl;dr about tonkotsu ramen or something, but this can come with hurt/comfort or general affection attached.
Spoilers for the Sumeru Archon Quest to follow. I don't know if you guys know this, but there was a rumor/leak in the weeks leading up to the final Sumeru patch release where it was claimed that Nahida would temporarily cede the seat of Dendro Archon to the Traveler. Obviously that didn't quite pan out as that particular leaker understood it — maybe they just bullshitted it entirely, or it was just an idea that never left the writers' pitch deck — but I like the idea and I see how things could have panned out that way even if there was no chance that the Traveler would hold Archonhood. I'd love to do a thread based off the idea of Aether being the Acting Dendro Archon — he can either hang out with other Archons or enjoy his temporary godhood among his people. Happy to flesh this out with ideas more specific to your character!
I've done this before to various capacities, but here's a thread concept I really like for Childe in particular: Aether comes to him asking for a loan from the Northland Bank. Turns out the traveler needs this money because he already owes money to a merchant in Liyue... which wouldn't be intolerable in and of itself, except that said merchant has been pressuring him for sex, and while he's staunchly refused, he doesn't want to put up with the situation any longer. There's no direction in particular I need to take this! I just like the heady blend of themes and conflicts this situation might present for Childe: the power of money, the protection of innocence, the traveler's outward veneer of innocence giving way to a more serious adult core... Just let me know if you're interested in playing this out too and I can set it up.
Spoilers for the World Quest series "Unfinished Comedy" to follow. After finishing "Game of the Rich," I absolutely fell in love with Caterpillar and wanted to RP him... but I don't really think he's playable right now, so here's my pitch! I really want to do an AU PSL where Aether is the immortal prisoner who has been in the Fortress of Meropide for far longer than anyone can remember. He's grown to not take his imprisonment very seriously, and winds up helping Wriothesley ascend to the position of fortress administrator for a variety of reasons. Wriothesley can probably be about any age from 14 to about 30 for this PSL, and I'm perfectly comfortable with the thread spanning a couple of years if need be.
I'm imagining this as an episodic PSL of sorts where Wriothesley and Aether would strategize around working through different villains of the week (mirroring the structure of the quest where the Traveler spends several days earning Coupons in the Fortress with Cater and Lanoire). Like, maybe their relationship first starts based on "I don't like this guy in charge of a gang in our cell block, let's get rid of him" but escalates to "fuck it, we don't like any of the guys in charge, let's get rid of all of them." They can brainstorm around saving and investing Coupons or getting Wriothesley through his Pankration matches, work around abusive fellow prisoners and equally abusive prison staff... There's a lot that we can put into this, and I'm happy to add whatever you want!
I do think this will be a plot-intensive PSL, so if you're interested, we should probably work out the details through PMs or Discord. But I'm also happy to just set the wheels in motion and see where this takes us, so there's no need to over-plan things if you're not the type to go in with a plan.
I don't actually need this to be shippy if you're not actually interested in a shippy angle, but of course, shipping would be fun. If we are going to write ships or smut, it would be better for Wriothesley to be 21+ when the PSL starts, but like I said, this whole PSL idea is inspired by Cater, so I'm more than happy for either Aether or Wriothesley to be children or teenagers without any shipping involved.
This is an AU fanfic idea I've seen batted around for a while: Diluc is a rather ordinary nobleman who discovers a disoriented Aether at the edges of his estate. Upon taking Aether in, either out of concern or for questioning, he soon discovers that Aether is a mysterious non-human entity that does not speak the language of Teyvat. (Whether or not he recognizes that Aether is an angel, either heaven-sent or from Celestia, is up to you.) Fluffy bonding and attachment ensues despite the language barrier. This does tend to have more of a fairytale atmosphere to it, but I can work with what you might prefer: I'm fine with the Fatui either still being a problem or not really being a factor in the setting at all, with Aether either learning the language quickly or having the language barrier continue to be more of an element in their relationship, with Aether being injured or wingless or not at all — whatever you might want! We can also just hop into this and see where it goes.
Okay, so here's the nonsense: I want to play a very cheesy, cute phantom thief/detective AU! For the record, I'm fine with either character in either role, and I would be just as happy to play Kaeya being the flirtatious thief with Aether being on the side of law enforcement, but here's the scenario with Aether as the thief by way of example:
The phantom thief Parsifal is famed throughout Mondstadt for stealing various priceless artifacts from museums and private collectors, but he is a "gentleman bandit" who seems to thrive on the thrill of the theft, and always leaves a calling card to announce his thefts in advance, as if to challenge the police who intend to catch him. Kaeya, as the long-suffering detective who is widely known as an expert on Parsifal's habits, is routinely hired to thwart the thief, but no matter the steps he takes to detain Parsifal, he never manages to catch his man. (Adding to the problem is that Aether/Parsifal himself is quite familiar with his handsome policeman by now and loves to tease.) I'd love to play out hijinks, pretty jewels, lots of flirting and sexual tension, and stolen kisses on museum balconies with helicopters flying overhead. Bonus: Aether also works at a bar that Kaeya likes to frequent after work, and while Kaeya is fully aware that his favorite bartender matches Parsifal's height, look, and build, he can't exactly arrest the man without proof...
By the way, the phantom thief doesn't have to be named Parsifal. I just named him that after the Genshin historical figure. Hey, if it fits...!

Eh, this is just a pretty common smut plot for doujinshi and fanfiction in general: a wayward Abyss Mage plants a curse on Aether that backfires, leaving him with a womb tattoo and the uncontrollable need to have sex. I can play this as an "in heat" situation or a "fuck or die" situation! I'm mostly listing this here since it's one of the few situations where I'd be happy to jump into smut without a whole lot of setup; I'm also happy to play this out with characters I don't normally expect to be able to ship with.
Honestly, this is just one of those stupid trashy smut ideas: I'd like to play out a scenario where Aether's constant cycling between the elements has left his powers a little haywire, and to stabilize it he has to... have sex with the Geo Archon. Realignment of the elements, you know? Also just a dumb excuse for smut. I can actually write this in a non-smutty, pure cuddling context if you'd like, but I would prefer to play this with a smut angle. Totally open to working in some dumb magical kink stuff, such as womb marking or using Geo resonance for sexual purposes.too.
You know how adepti can apparently manifest themselves in dreams? Yes, well, I think we should take advantage of this. I'd love for Zhongli to visit one of Aether's dreams, presumably for important reasons... and maybe he discovers that the dream is a little, uh, weird. For an angst option, the dream could be one of his recurring nightmares about imprisonment or death by falling; for a comical option, it could just be a really sweet and stupid dream involving cute animals and stupid impossible tasks; for a smut option, it could be an openly degenerate wet dream — happy to work in any kinks you might be interested in. I'm fine with playing this prompt all sorts of ways!
I'd like to do a thread where Aether and Thoma have a sexual relationship that revolves around using favors to pay off debts! This could be, for example, Aether having sex with Thoma to repay him for getting settled on Ritou, or Thoma having sex with Aether to repay him for taking his Vision from the Raiden Shogun. I'd love for the continual emphasis on "favors" really being a pretense so that they can both hide some deeper feelings, but this could also be a FWB situation where the sex is extremely casual and it's really no strings attached.
Kaeya's a manipulative guy, and Aether doesn't entirely seem to mind being manipulated, so I'll just lay it out: I'd be interested in playing out a scenario where Aether is at Kaeya's sexual beck and call for some reason or other. This could be a blackmail situation or just a twisted take on Aether being Kaeya's "errand boy" — I'd be interested in kinks like sneaking around (fucking in alleyways, behind the Angel's Share, in the back of the Cat's Tail, what have you), sexual exhaustion / addiction, and public use (fucking in front of other Knights of Favonius, in the middle of Kaeya's office, whenever he wants it, etc).
